The Role – Group Benefits: Client Support Specialist
As a Client Support Specialist, you will be in charge of the day-to-day administration and support of clients and their benefits plans working closely with the licensed Navy & Sage Benefits Advisors.

Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance carriers and clients
    • Assist Advisors in managing their clients’ needs and day-to-day tasks and projects
    • Assist with claims experience reporting, benefits plan management and claim issues
    • Obtain proposals from insurance providers, review and summarize the details
    • Prepare group benefit renewal reports
    • Review and interpret contracts, propose changes when necessary
    • Create and manage spreadsheets, reports and documents using MS Office
    • Have or obtain knowledge of current and relevant insurance products, industry trends, underwriting, benefits reporting and various funding arrangement options
    • Handle complex claims, benefit inquiries and billing issues
    • Communicate with and educate clients as needed
    • Occasional face-to-face client meetings
    • Support with HR projects, marketing and social media

    About You
    You’re great at finding creative solutions to problems. You are comfortable talking with Benefits Plan Administrators, HR Managers and Insurance Carriers. You believe in wowing clients with better-than-expected service. You are a natural at making clients feel important and valued. You are organized, detail-oriented and can manage multiple demanding tasks with tight deadlines.

    Ideally, you are very familiar with all aspects of group benefits, including benefits plan marketing, obtaining and compiling employee data, reviewing contracts and benefit plan booklets, reviewing insurance carrier proposals/renewals/claims experience and summarizing the information in a meaningful report. You are also great at assisting with client questions or looking into denied claims.

    You have skill in using Microsoft Office and are a quick learner. Excellent written and communication skills are essential. You work well independently but also have strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable working with a variety of clients and different personalities.
